Caution: using mobile phone in the evening or night time might cause serious vision problems!

The connection was discovered when two women in the ages 22 and 44 consulted with an eye doctor, because they had experienced several 15-minutes vision losses. After many tests and observations, which did not reveal the reason behind the problem, the doctors decided to conduct a research in women´s lifestyles. Surprisingly the reasons behind the vision problems lied in their lifestyles.

Namely, those women were very active mobile users in the dark before falling asleep. The problem was resulted because of the dark surrounding and the body position, how they watched mobile screens. Those previously mentioned women used their phones while lying down in the bed on one side. This kind of body position causes a situation when one eye is completely focused on the screen, while the another one is partly behind the pillow. By this way the one eye adapts the light from the screen, while other eye adjusts with significantly darker light. When the mobile phone is turned off or put into sleep mode, the brain gets into confusion and does not understand, why one eye works on “ dayligh” regimen while another one is on “night” regimen.  And that is why people experience the temporary vision loss. If it occurs too often then it could be the result of permanent eye damage.

Majority of the people underestimate the negative effect mobile phones, computers have on eyes, but they should not. There is a clear connection between the deterioration of vision and emitting light from screens. We do not want to scare anyone but the Harvard University health experts have confirmed that there is a connection between the blue light (from mobile phones, computers etc) and different cancer types, diabetes, heart diseases and overweight.

Take care of your eyes!
